‘Where’s the communication?’: State, local officials perplexed by vaccine rollout

BURLINGTON, MASS. (WHDH) – Town officials in Burlington saying they are frustrated with the little direction they have been given on how to vaccinate their most at-risk residents.

A clinic was scheduled to be held at a senior center in town on Wednesday with the goal of vaccinating 100 seniors. The problem — as of Tuesday night, the town had not received any doses or any communication.

Gordon and Barrett Highlight Bills that Target Climate, Economic Development, Transportation, and Sexual Assault Prevention

This week, Representative Ken Gordon (D-Bedford) and Senator Mike Barrett (D-Lexington) joined their colleagues in the Legislature in passing multiple pieces of legislation designed to improve the lives of Massachusetts residents, as the 2019-2020 legislative session came to an end. Rep. Gordon, Legislature Pass FY 2021 Budget Proposals

The Mass. Senate and House have given final approval to the state’s budget for the current fiscal year.

With help from local State Representative Ken Gordon, Bedford’s State Senator Mike Barrett secured funding to mitigate the costs the town incurs for educating children of families living on nearby military bases. More than one-hundred Hanscom Air Force Base students attend high school at local expense.

Burlington Lands $3.5 Million State Grant for MWRA Project

Burlington will receive state funds to help the project of shutting down the Vine Brook Water Treatment plant and connecting to the state water source.

The Town of Burlington will receive $3.5 million for water system improvements as part of the Commonwealth’s 2020 MassWorks Infrastructure Grant Program, announced Friday by Governor Charlie Baker and the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development, a release from Economic Development Director Melisa Tintocalis states. The grant will enable new housing and life sciences development, as well as create new employment opportunities in the area.
