Rep. Gordon and House Vote Remotely to Pass Legislation Assuring State Programs and Services of Continued Funding

During the first formal remote voting session in Massachusetts history, Representative Ken Gordon (D – Bedford) and his colleagues in the House of Representatives passed legislation to authorize necessary state borrowing during the Covid-19 public health emergency.

“It was fascinating to take part in this historic remote voting session in the House as we passed this bill to provide the state with necessary access to funds that will support residents and businesses in the Commonwealth throughout the Covid-19 emergency,” said Representative Gordon.

Rep. Gordon Provides April 21 COVID-19 Update — School and Childcare Center Closure Extended

Governor Charlie Baker issued an emergency order extending the closure of all public and private schools through the end of the school year, and the closure of all non-emergency child care programs until June 29, 2020 in an effort to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth. The order does not apply to residential special education schools.

Representative Gordon Supports Bill to Waive MCAS Requirements, Help Vulnerable Residents Amid COVID-19 Public Health Crisis

BOSTON (4/14/20) –  Representative Ken Gordon supported legislation passed by the House of Representatives that provides MCAS testing and budgetary flexibility to school districts and supports those experiencing homelessness in the Commonwealth. The bill was later passed by the Senate and signed into law by the Governor on Friday, April 11.
